in20yearsI ran across an article about a new web application called In20years.   This allows a user to upload a current picture of one’s self AND it automatically ages your face 20 years AND it’s free!  Now the only idiots people who would have the desire for this would have to be under twenty years old themselves.  Who in their right mind would want to see their future in HD?  Wrinkles, crows feet and sagging jowls, oh my!  The author of the article was herself barely older than a fetus (19) and aged herself to the horrific late thirties.  She equated how she looked to something that “would make wee babes weep in fear.”   Nice.

The other questions the app asks you to answer are your current age/gender and if you are or are not a drug user.  I am not certain, but they probably add on another 20 years or so if you answer yes to that question (with optional crumbling, tooth nubs if you specify meth addiction, no extra charge!).   However, I want the app that takes away 20 years….and makes me look like Rachel McAdams…and allows me to use that photo on all forms of legal picture id for the rest of my life.

As for the In20Years app?   I suspect that if I recklessly tried it, I would look fairly close to how I look now in the mirror at 5am in my pre-spackle, under stark fluorescent lighting state.  It’s not pretty.  So if you ever wondered if there was something out there (besides a passive aggressive drunk guy in a bar) that could make  a grown women sob for days over her lost youth, the answer is apparently yes.  There’s an app for that.
